Shifters is an independent Australian science-fiction program, made and released as a web-series (thus far limited to one season of six episodes).

Friends Michael and Sam, bored during a school excursion to a museum, sneak away to examine the out-of-bounds exhibits--one of which promptly transports them and schoolmate Krystal to a parallel dimension. Unable to shift straight back to their own world, the three teens are forced to shift from alternate world to alternate world in an effort to find their way home.

In episode one, the protagonists first find themselves shifted away from their own world to an alternate but strangely similar world.

In episode two, the protagonists find themselves in a version of their world in which dinosaurs never died out--and in which the oddly medieval society is under the brutal control of a usurper.

In episode three, the protagonists shift to a version of their world stricken by a post-apocalyptic war--and find themselves facing an unexpected but strangely familiar enemy.

In episode four, the protagonists and their new companion find themselves in a version of their world in which the Industrial Revolution never happened--but one of them appears to have a doppelganger who is less than popular in this Wild West town.

In episode five, the protagonists think they've managed to find their way home, and decide to stay and make sure--but only six months later, they realise their mistake.

In episode six, the protagonists are trapped in a world slowly collapsing under a succession of natural disasters--and with seemingly no means of escape.
