The Flinders Island Chronicle was the first newspapers produced by Indigenous Australians. Founded in September 1836 and running until December 1837, only twenty-nine editions have been noted. It was jointly written and edited by Thomas Brune and Walter George Arthur. The newspaper was issued on a half a sheet of foolscap every Saturday at 2d. each.
