Numerous films called The Miner's Daughter were made in the early years of the twentieth century, mostly in the United States: at least one was, like the Australian film The Luck of Roaring Camp, descended from a short work by American writer Bret Harte. There is no indication that this film is based on the Bret Harte story, and advertisements prominently note that it is 'Produced in Australia by Australians'.

An obscure film, about which little is now known. Contemporary Australia newspaper reports indicated that the film consisted of fifteen scenes and 'is said to be a typical story of the bush, telling the touching story of a strolling player's devotion to his wife' ([Untitled], Border Watch, 16 September 1911, p.2.), while a New Zealand newspaper describes it as 'a fine picture dealing with circus life, into which is mingled a pathetic little story in connection with the clown, his wife, and a squatter' ('Royal Pictures', Taranaki Daily News, 26 July 1911, p.8).
