Description

RATIONALE:

This unit examines various forms of creative writing in order to provide skills in written creative language as well as a basic theoretical background. It is appropriate in developing writing and critical skills for professional writers such as literary creative writers and journalists, as well as for para-writing professions such as law or health communication.

AIM:

This unit aims to facilitate the development of introductory creative, critical and analytical skills in reading and writing including poetry and short fiction.

CONTENT:

The unit addresses content such as poetry and short fiction. The unit looks at the development of these literary forms as a way of understanding how a practitioner might best approach both the writing and critical analysis of them in the contemporary context.
