This course is a study of selected war literature (prose, poetry, personal memoir) and some film texts, and examines such concepts as mateship and masculinity, representations of the soldier and the enemy, violence and pain, and the ideological function of works about war.

Other Details

The title of this unit is listed on the Co-op bookshop site as "War and representation in Literature and Film", which is more in keeping with the non-Australian texts currently listed in connection with it. Despite this, the university still lists the unit title as being the same as in previous years - "War Literature".
