History

Named for benefactor Sir Christopher Ondaatje (older brother of novelist Michael Ondaatje), the Ondaatje Prize is awarded for fiction, non-fiction, or poetry embodying 'the spirit of a place', written by someone resident in the Commonwealth or the Republic of Ireland.
