Disowned by his Uncle in Scotland who mistakenly believes that Don McGregor is a gambler, the disgraced Don goes to Australia where he establishes a struggling sheep station. However, his life takes a new turn when he captures a promising brumby foal, and then discovers at a local ball that his childhood sweetheart, who has left Scotland, is visiting the area.
