The Buln-Buln and the Brolga was first published in book form in 1948, more than fifty years after Furphy extracted it from the Such is Life typescript. A new critically established text of The Buln-Buln and the Brolga will be produced in the future. This new edition will use the 1905 typescript at the National Library of Australia as copy-text to best present Furphy's method of punctuation and to remove any unnecessary editorial intervention identified in Angus & Robertson's first edition.
