The second item in the Freeman's Journal's weekly news summary concerns the closure of the Newtown School of Arts due to financial insolvency.

'Buggins' comments on the behaviour of the 'pompous tragdeian ... Mr Barry Sullivan' at London's Drury Lane Theatre. He then goes on to note the amateur performance at the Lyceum Theatre of Spectre's Dream [sic] and, in more detail, the production at the Royal Victoria Theatre of William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night.

A review of an amateur dramatic performance held in 'the Hall of the Sacred Heart, for the benefit of the Christian Doctrine Society attached to the Church. The pieces selected were O'Callaghan on His Last Legs and Twenty Minutes with a Tiger.'
