BiographyHistory

Australian rock band from Lismore, New South Wales, formed in 1995 with Phil Jamieson (vocals and guitar), Pat Davern (guitar), Joe Hansen (bass guitar), and Kristian Hopes (drums).

The band went on hiatus in 2013, but have briefly reformed on occasion for particular events or recordings.

The name 'Grinspoon' was taken from Dr Lester Grinspoon, associate professor emeritus of psychiatry (Harvard Medical School) and advocate of marijuana for medical use.
