  • This poem, 'The Famished Face', is acknowledged by Egyptian-born Australian musician, composer and oud player Joseph Tawadros as being the inspiration for his composition of the same title, appearing on the CD The Storyteller (ABC, 2004). The poem is reproduced in full in the liner notes of the CD.
