This publication was developed as part of La Trobe University's celebration of International Year of the Indigenous People in 1993. It is a project of the Bundoora Campus and is a joint initiative of the Koori Centre, the Rabelais editors and the Koori and Gubba club at La Trobe University.

The focus of this essay is Donna Burns, an Aboriginal woman from Victoria who represented Australia at the Paralympics in Barcelona, 1992. Donna was a member of the gold medal winning Australian basketball team.
