Mr Alfred Labalestrier, formerly bandmaster of the Ballarat Rangers and now resident in New Zealand, has fallen ill since the death of his wife. He refuses to attend any engagements and suffers from delusions. Mr Labalestrier lived in Ballarat for more than ten years and was greatly respected.
