AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'Dr John M. Wright was a student of Vincent Buckley's in the 1970s and regards him as his mentor for a life of poetry. In this paper he explains how Buckley's poetry has worked in his own emotional and intellectual life and suggests that the poetic sequence, Golden Builders, has never received the recognition it deserves.' 'This Special Issue of JASAL, derives from the mini-conference 'Vincent Buckley 20 Years After: Life, Work, Politics and Times'. It embraces the life, work, politics and times of Buckley. Taking its cue from the mini-conference, this Special Issue is deliberately multimodal: it reaches out to the many contexts—literary, cultural, historical, and personal—which envelop Buckley's life and work.'
