Wik Kath In.angan Puk Many.iyant (These Stories Are For Children) are Wik-Munkan stories stories written for school age children of Arukan, N. Queenslan. Aurukan is situated on the west coast of Cape York Peninsula in North Queensland. The majority of the 750 people who speak Wik-Munkan either as their first language or as the local lingua franca live at Aurukun.
These stories were told by Frank Walmby of Aurukun while attending a Writer's Workshop at the Summer Institute of Linguistics of Darwin, N. T. The stories were taped and transcribed by Ann Curnow of the Summer Institute of Linguistics and Topsy Walmby assisted with editorial work.
