Notes

  • Brief biographical note on Alfred Martin Harris, whose serial 'No Flowering Road' was being published in the Herald. The item indicates that Harris was then working as a clerk in the Commonwealth Attorney-General's Department in Sydney. The title 'No Flowering Road' was evidently taken from La Fontaine's line 'No flowery road leads to glory'. The item also mentions that the work was to be published the next year in London under the title 'The Tall Man'. Includes portrait.
