Notes

  • Author's note: This is another story set on Crocker Island, that beautiful island northeast of Darwin in the Arafura Sea. After Uncle Bob was taken from his family at Angas Down station, near Uluru, he was placed in the Methodist mission on Croker Island. There were no toilets or running water and the children had to clear the land to grow their food. Many creeks flowed onto the island's white sand beaches and into the changing colours of the sea.
