      Note/s:
      • Author's Preface: ...I think I basically see the play itself as a parody of an American courtroom drama. All the legalistic terminology and the accoutrements of justice are there, but the real battle as the American sees it, is fought in the alley behind the boxing stadium. For him due process of law consists in ensuring that America's enemies get their due. he likes the aftermath of aw; and as an American he loves rhetoric. If there is one thing I can never forget about my American upbringing, it is being subjected to a constant rash of the world's most beautiful lip service. No wonder those people believe they live in the only free country. They tell themselves often enough.(pp.5-7). R.P. 1980.
