Censorship notes: One of the censors wrote: 'This enormously long American novel contains almost a complete compendium of every kind of sexual deviation and perversion, described without the least restraint or euphemism. In a number of instances, the description makes the practices seem attractive or at least acceptable. There is no need to list these passages in detail. They cover all forms of sexual activity from sadism to anal and oral eroticism.'
Censorship notes: The prohibition was maintained by the board of on 28.09.1970. It was released on 27.07.1973 in a cyclical review.
