AbstractHistoryArchive Description
Lights Out! is a collection of short stories. It is set in a boys' school where each night, in the hour after lights out at 9pm, each boy takes a turn at telling a story. The adventure stories cover topics such as smugglers, wayward sons, sea voyages, war stories, life boats and shipwrecks, truancy, bicycles, and dogs. They often have a moral lesson indicating how a boy should properly behave according to the expectations of the time.
