AbstractHistoryArchive Description

The Evening Observer was the third newspaper run by the Brisbane Newspaper Company, and it was in effect an evening edition of the Brisbane Courier. However, although it shared copy with its stable-mates, the Brisbane Courier and the weekly Queenslander, it was nevertheless conducted as a separate entity and for much of its life had its own editorial and reporting staff. The Saturday edition, titled the Saturday Observer, was devoted to sport.
