A response from Harry Fitzmaurice, the director of The Two Worlds, to Dr Joseph Summers' letter to the editor of the West Australian (17 November 1900, p10). Fitzmaurice contradicts Summers' claim that that 10 of the choruses in the production were his, arguing that 'only 'seven of those he named are his work.' Fitzmaurice also writes : 'In conclusion let me add that we do not repeat any of the the seven choruses, and as there are 43 pieces of vocal and instrumental music used during the play, I will leave it to your readers to estimate the value of Dr Summers's statements when he claims to have written the greater portion of the music' (2).
