AbstractHistoryArchive Description

Aboard destroyer Wind Rode the five men had a mess of their own. This was surprising. Surprising also was the fact that none of the ship's company resented the five's privileged seclusion. They were men apart in more ways than one and the dangers they faced were not dangers known to men who fought on the surface of the ocean. They were frogmen, chosen to carry a load of destruction through their alien, underwater world to the heart of the Japanese defences at Halmahera. The success of an invasion depended on their courage. - back cover
