Editor's note: This is a true story that happened when Obed was a boy. The two men were Jonathon Namatjira (Albert Namatjira's father) and Christian Paraoultja, the man who tangles with the bull. The men were working as stockmen, mustering from Gilbert Springs, west of Hermannsburg Mission, N[orthern] T[erritory]. This is the first of three 'Pararoultja Stories'. As Obed tells it, he was a good man who was always getting into strife.
