AbstractHistoryArchive Description

This rock musical was created for young people and is concerned with young people's issues. The narrative focuses on four teenagers and their experiences in the big bad world of nightclubs and disc jockeys.

Production Details

  • Devised and produced by West Community Theatre at Essendon Civic Theatre in conjunction with Year 10 students from Buckley Park High School, Essendon, Victoria, 31 July 1979. Director: Jan McDonald. The soundtrack recording of the original 1979 production is significant in that several of the musicians later became internationally famous as members of 'Men at Work'.
  • The show toured high schools and educational institutions throughout the western region of Melbourne during August, 1979.
