AbstractHistoryArchive Description

This story has one, and only one, object - to show the influence for good that may be contained within the sphere of a bush school library. That a boy such as Tom Skidmore was, and with his poor opportunities should attain to the position of Prime Minister of New South Wales, will not be regarded as improbable; for the whole history of the Australasian Colonies proves the truth of the assumption, and the author earnestly prays that many more like him may arise through this influence to help to guide the destinies of this fair land. (Preface)
