Notes
-
Publisher's note: The four books in this collection have been previously published: Outback (1962), One Traveller's Africa (1965) by Methuen; and A Sight of China (1969) and Paradise, and Yet (1971) by Macmillan. This edition is an abridged version of the original publication produced in co-operation with the estate of Cynthia Nolan. The abridgements aim to preserve the strengths of Cynthia Nolan's original writing. The focus has been on the vitality and beauty of descriptions of people and places, and the interaction between Cynthia and Sidney, while removing less signifcant details of the travels and historical material that no longer seems relevant or informative.
