19th-Century Australian Travel Writing
Lawrence Struilby spent time in Tasmania and the Bathurst district of New South Wales, both with Aboriginal peoples and within the prison system. Edited by the Reverend John Graham (1822-1879), Struilby's observations of life in Australia were presented as a biography in narrative form, accompanied by journals, letters, and an historical introduction. In his introduction Graham stated that the story is strange yet true.
