The name Ethel Anderson may not be as well-known as that of other Australian authors, but she has been hailed as one of our best writers and poets. Similarly, Austin Anderson is probably not familiar outside military circles, where his distinguished army career won him much acclaim. He was later a private secretary to three New South Wales governors and two governor generals.
