BiographyHistory

Magdalena McIntosh is the daughter of Edwin Verberg who was a Dutch farmer and Madelene Anmilal Verberg who was an Aboriginal woman belonging to the Kungarakan people. To protect his daughter from the Northern Territory Aborigines Act Edwin Verberg paid for Magdalena to board at St Joseph's Convent in Darwin. Maddie McIntosh later became a Field Officer for the Northern Australian Aboriginal Legal Aid Service.
