BiographyHistory

Upon arrival in Hobart on board the Georgiana in 1834 George Barrow told the Muster Master that he had been educated at Westminster School and was qualified as a lawyer, being 'admitted to the Courts of Holland and Demerara [later Guyana]'. Barrow, who was of African descent, lived only four years in Van Diemen's Land before his death.
