A television news reporter for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in Sydney, David Spicer has spent more than 15 years in TV and radio. Among his achievements he has won two Walkley Awards in the Radio Current Affairs Section in 1997 and 1998. In 1997 he also won the City of Sydney Performing Arts Challenge open tenor competition and was highly commended in 1998. Spicer's interest in musical theatre has seen him perform in more 20 community theatre productions and he has also been the Communication Officer for the Association of Community Theatre.... an umbrella organisation for Community Theatre since 1995. During that time ACT has expanded from 20 member theatres to 350. In this role he helped develop A.C.T's successful national insurance policy and was largely responsible for the organisation gaining a $5,000 grant from the Australia Council to hold the first ever State Conference of amateur theatre in New South Wales in June 1998. He helped co-ordinate the next three conference in 2000, 2002, and 2004.

David Spicer Productions (DSP) aims to provide full house musicals and plays to professional, amateur and school theatre. In 2004 musicals, plays and pantomimes from David Spicer Productions were being staged in 100 towns and cities across Australia, New Zealand, the United States and the United Kingdom. The company started when David Spicer began researching a book and was asked by composer Bernard J Taylor to be his agent. Since then DSP has expanded, but only quality works are brought into the catalogue. Many have been performed with great success on the professional stage.
