BiographyHistory

A celebrated clay sculptor, Lindsay Muir draws inspiration from the rainforest to create his unique, hand-modelled pieces that incorporate a technique of underglazing which is said to bring the clay to life. Photographs of Muir's three-dimensional clay scuptures appear in Green Air (1996), a children's picture book which was written by Jill Morris (q.v.). Morris wrote the 'environmentally aware' storybook with the specific intention of creating a work that would be suited to Muir's innovative form of illustration.

Muir also conducts workshops, providing an insight into how to make frogs and their habitats out of clay. He has worked in potteries on Norfolk Island, the Sunshine Coast (Qld) and in England.
