BiographyHistory

An English Quaker, Hodgkin was also a medical entomologist working in Malaya at the time of the Japanese invasion during World War II. He became one of the 3 000 civilian internees at Changi and Sime Road gaols in Singapore.

After the war, Hodgkin joined his wife, Mary Hodgkin, in Perth. Both he and his wife went on to academic careers at the University of Western Australia.
