BiographyHistory

May Howlett started acting on stage at the age of two and a half at Her Majesty's Theatre in Perth, Western Australia.

She studied Music at Melbourne University Conservatorium (majoring in Pianoforte and Singing), graduating with a Bachelor of Music in 1954, and obtained a Diploma of Education the following year.

In her professional life Howlett has been involved in the arts as a singer, pianist, composer, writer, director, and as an arts administrator. As an actor, she has appeared in many film and television productions.

Howlett is also the author of works of drama and fiction.
