BiographyHistory

Thomas Hassall was a colonial chaplain for the Church of England. A sermon delivered at his funeral was published at the request of his family in 1868: A funeral sermon, preached in St. Paul's, Cobbedee, on the occasion of the death of the Rev. Thomas Hassall, M. A., of Denbigh, late incumbent of Narellan, together with a brief account of his career, by the Rev. R. L. King, Incumbent of Holsworthy. A biography of Hassall and his wife was published in 1982: Eugenie Stapleton, Ann (Marsden) Hassall and the "Galloping Parson" : A Century of Colonial Chaplains.
