BiographyHistory

Now working as a market researcher, Zing Hai Tan came to Adelaide in 1971 to complete his schooling. He studied matriculation English and won the Tennyson Medal, then went on to study at the University of Adelaide, where he won the Bundey Prize for poetry. It was 'an interesting time', he says, when young poets were coming together to find a way to publish their work, resulting in the establishment by Jane Donald and Sandy Clark of the Dark Areas poetry journal. Zing Hai's typed, hand-made collection of poetry was published in conjunction with Dark Areas.
