BiographyHistory

Clifford Warne was educated at Randwick Boys High School. He began his media career as a radio announcer at Inverell where he was a Sunday School teacher. He took up a position at Scripture Union, using puppets and magic tricks in the children's ministry. In 1955-1956 Warne studied film and television techniques in the United States before becoming the first director of the Church of England Television Society in 1957. His career on the Seven Network spanned thirty-seven years. Warne was a public speaker, lecturer in communication, television producer, radio announcer, author, puppeteer and magician.
