A light-hearted comedy celebrating the experience of second-generation Italians in Sydney, Australia. Stand-up comedian Gino Pallazetti's chaotic family is a joke, at least through his irreverent eyes. The only trouble for Gino is that for his family, it's all deadly serious.

Waiting is an irreverent comedy of errors and expectations in which Claire, artist and mother-to-be, becomes the subject of a grand plan. In her isolated farmhouse in an idyllic bush setting, she awaits what she hopes will be the perfect home birth, while her three girlfriends (with their various men, children, and animals) converge from various directions to assist. The chaos that results is a far cry from the girls' reunion Claire had hoped for. In fact, nothing goes according to plan.

Adapted from Cathy-Ann Matthews's autobiography, the screenplay deals openly with the abuse she endured as a child and looks at how she learned to gradually deal with the mental and emotional scars.

The story of two children who run away from home, getting into difficulties that help them sort out their personal problems.
