BiographyHistory

Jon Powis worked as a journalist and public relations consultant. In the 1950s and 1960s he worked in London and Munich before returning to Sydney, New South Wales as senior feature writer for the National Times newspaper. He was press secretary to Liberal politician John Howard (q.v.) during Howard's time as treasurer. Powis retired in 1999 but continued a column, 'Jottings', in the Southern Highland News.
