BiographyHistory

Gerard Matte was born of Jewish parentage in France and arrived in Australia in 1951. He has worked as a scriptwriter for radio and television. Matte has also been a senior lecturer in the School of Arts and Sciences, St.Patrick's Campus, the Australian Catholic University. He has engaged in research at Monash University's Centre for Drama and Theatre Studies on a psychoanalytical approach to comedy and presented papers on the topic at University of New South Wales Colloquiums.
