BiographyHistory

Lieutenant-Colonel Thomas Edward Lawrence was a British soldier who became infamous for his liaison role in the Arab revolt of 1916-1918. He is often known as 'Lawrence of Arabia' and his vivid personality, writings and journeys have made him an object of fascination throughout the world. Lawrence wrote many books about his war experiences including his most well-known book, Seven Pillars of Wisdom. His book The Mint was banned in Australia in 1955.
