BiographyHistory

'Dr Eve Christine Peacock practiced performance arts (acting, directing producing fringe theatre) before training as a television producer with ABC Television in Sydney in 1983. She is a writer, producer, director with Brisbane based Indigenous community media arts organisation Uniikup Productions Ltd. (originally Murriimage Community Video and Film Service) established in 1986. Christine is also Artistic Director of the annual Colourise Festival (details at www.colourise.com.au). She completed an MA (Research) at the Creative Industries Faculty, Q.U.T. Brisbane in September 2009, and in 2014 completed a PhD by practice led research of her processes and practice in the Brisbane Indigenous community. She is a descendent of Erub in the Torres Strait Islands, born in Mareeba North Queensland (bordering on Kuka Yalanji and Djabuganjdi countries) and grew up in Ningy Ningy country at Redcliffe SE Queensland. She currently lives at Wolvi on Gubbi Gubbi, the paternal country of her children. Christine is a parent of two and grandmother'.
