BiographyHistory

Norma Lenoy's mother's people were the Cape Grafton Gunggadji tribe who were the first people at Yarrabah Mission which is approximately 37km south of Cairns in Far North Queensland. At age five Lenoy began her education at Jarvisfield State School and later she attended the Rural State School in Home Hill. At fourteen she left school to begin work as a domestic employed for a shilling a week by a local farmer and his wife.
