Peter Lyons trained for a time for the Roman Catholic priesthood before embarking on studies at the universities of Adelaide and Queensland. He has worked in a variety of jobs from postman and brewery clerk to public servant and New Guinea patrol officer. Lyons has been editor of a business magazine and, in addition to writing novels and short stories, he has also written works on business management and on letter writing.
