BiographyHistory

'Kevin Morris spent his early childhood in Bowen, North Queensland in the late 1940s and 1950s. His Koori ancestry was hidden from him for many years by his parents and relatives who wanted to "protect" him. Originally, his Koori people came from the Monaro district in New South Wales, but he has been strongly bonded in spirit to all Kooris who did or did not survive.

He has worked in the education system for over 30 years throughout Queensland as a teacher, principal and lecturer.' Source: Koorie Poems of the Heart (1991).
