BiographyHistory

Maria Tomlin is a member of the Stolen Generations. At the age of seven, Tomlin was removed from her family near Mount Doreen in the Northern Territory and, along with her brother, placed in The Bungalow, in Alice Springs. She was relocated to Melbourne as part of the World War II evacuation and then sent to Adelaide and Carrington. From there Tomlin was sent to Garden Point Mission on Meville Island where she was reunited with a brother. Tomlin was reunited with her mother at a convent in Alice Springs and learned that her mother had searched for her. Tomlin has worked at Darwin hospital.
