George Bloomfield was removed along with his siblings to various homes in New South Wales. He was taken to Royleston Depot in Sydney, a holding centre for Aboriginal children whose cases were to come before the Children's court. Bloomfield was then sent to Farm Home for Boys in Mittagong in 1965. He was sent to Werrickton Park Boys' Home for rebelling against cruel punishments. Bloomfield was eventually reunited with his mother and became a youth worker.

Bloomfield's story was recorded by the National Library of Australia for the Bringing Them Home Report oral history project and appeared in the associated publication Many Voices: Reflections on experiences of Indigenous child separation edited by Doreen Mellor and Anna Haebich (2002).
