BiographyHistory

Cecile Miller is a Gungganyji woman from Second Beach, Cairns. Her son is Esau Miller (q.v.). Cecile Miller lived in the Yarrabah mission, where her routine was visiting church everyday, chores, and then school. Father Gribble of Yarrabah Mission gave Cecille Miller her name when he baptised her. Miller was made to believe that marriage was the only way to leave the mission dormitories. Miller lived on a farm with her husband until he became sick and then they moved back to Yarrabah but her husband died at Yarrabah hospital.
