BiographyHistory

Norman Harris was the nephew of William Harris (1867-1931) an Aboriginal Activist in Western Australia during the first three decades of the 20th century. Norman worked with his Uncle, protesting the treatment Indigenous Australians were receiving at that time. Norman also participated in the Union formed by his Uncle in 1926. When Indigenous Australians were banned from entering central Perth in 1927, Harris employed a lawyer to try and over turn the sanction.
